Get to Know MIAD!
Sharing the love of music on all frontiers from jam to newgrass, Mark Frystak (Vocals/Guitar) and Hayley Skreens (Vocals/Banjo) weld together to form Make it a Double! Inspired by the reinvention of their favorite tunes alongside heartfelt originals, they offer a sound that showcases their spirits as singers while remaining true to their acoustic roots with a strictly string instrumentation and single mic setup. Sure to bring a smile to your face, together they encourage an atmosphere that is both energized and inviting similar to that of their weekly collaboration with friends in the Bluegrass Sundaze event series. You can find this animated duo all throughout the greater Chicago area, so don’t miss your next chance to Make it a Double!

As the frontman of the bluegrass band Close Enough, Mark Frystak provides a driving, steadfast rhythm on his Martin D-28 while embracing the role of lead vocalist. Instilled with a rich love for singing and strumming at an early age, Frystak’s warm tone and precision are tirelessly evident in his playing. With influences ranging from the Grateful Dead to Baroque Classical, today he finds himself at home in the bluegrass/folk world centralized in the Fox Valley.

Singer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist Hayley Skreens is a musical social butterfly who is happy to be rooted in the Chicago area after traveling full time with Under the Willow from 2012-2016. Her unmistakably soulful voice shines whether she is accompanying herself on banjo, guitar, mandolin or piano. Having shared bills with acts such as Jason Isbell, Fruition, Old Shoe, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, Shook Twins, and SHEL, she is a true music lover at heart.
