Tasting notes for the week of September 12, 2017

Cono Sur Sauvignon Blanc – Chile-  Green-yellow colour. Stands out for its freshness and delicious acidity. Tastes of green apple, citrus fruits, herbal and mineral notes.

Coastal Vines Chardonnay – Central Coast, CA – Bright emerald straw color. Fruity, creamy aromas and flavors of dried banana, vanilla cream, and apple butter with a silky, bright, fruity light-to-medium body and a smooth, breezy tropical fruit custard finish. A pleasant, fruity, easy drinking chardonnay.

Curator Blend – South Africa- : The floral aroma with hints of yellow peach, lemon, and chamomile. Flavors of yellow peach and lemon zest are matched by a gentle acidity, making this wine an easy sipper.

A to Z Pinot Gris – Oregon- aromas of honeysuckle, lemon zest, nutmeg and wet stone developing into richer aromas of lychee, beeswax and melon that add complexity to the nose. The attack is juicy and pure with bright citrus fruit flavors and mineral notes.

Fallegro Vino Blanco – Italy- Bursting with fresh aromas and lively flavors of pear and yellow apples with a delightful citrus-floral finish. Half way between still and sparkling, this lovely, crisp wine has just a bit of ‘frizzante’ adds just a tingle of effervescence that dances on the tongue.

A to Z Pinot Noir – Oregon– Aromas of cherries, raspberries, and blackberries, developing to iris, blueberries, strawberries and minerals. A beautiful attack has vibrant red fruit flavors and floral notes. Ripe tannins are balanced by perfect acidity and the mid-palate reveals spice, tobacco and earth notes adding richness and complexity.

Barnard Griffin Blend – Washington-  Delicious red blend features a dense, rich mouthfeel laced with alluring notes of cherry, plum and dark chocolate. Intriguing accents of oak spice, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg linger on the long finish

Amicone “baby amirone” – Italy- Dark scarlet/almost black. Nose of fig and ripe plums with a bit of smoke and tar. Rich generous dark fruits clear across the palate, clean not jammy. Just enough tannin and a hint of bitterness in the finish to balance the rich flavor

Hilary Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon – California-   Violet-black; rich and intense with black currant, raspberry, and blueberry aromas. Shows blackberry, boysenberry, and red raspberry flavors. Full-bodied and smooth mid-palate with baking spices in the finish.

LangeTwins Zinfandel – California – Lush style Zin with a rich aroma of ripe berry and raspberry. On the palate, the upfront jammy dark berry layers are supported by 100% American Oak aging, giving nice balance between toasty oak and fruit.

Ty Caton Tytanium – Napa, Ca– With savory aromas and a deep lusciouscolor, this much-loved wine strokes your palate with flavors of dark cherry, blackberry and cassis. The thick velvety texture gives way to toasty oak and finishes with just a hint of chocolate.
