Tasting notes for the week of June 6, 2017
Russian River, Ca- Attractive aromas of white peach, poached pear and caramelized citrus are followed by a creamy, medium to full-bodied, pure, well-made Chardonnay.
Otto’s Constant Dream (OCD) Sauvignon Blanc
Marlborough, New Zealand – Started as a humorous wine label that turned into an actual product. Very true to Sauvignon Blanc character, this wine balances great citrus acidity with a generous minerality and pleasant herbal tones.
Antxiola Getariako Txakolina
Spain –Dry and simply mouthwatering. Very crisp and fresh with nose of mineral, citrus, and lemon zest with just a touch of residual carbonation.
La Playa Cabernet Rosé
Rapel Valley, Chile- This Rose is a delicate pink color. On the nose, floral notes with hints of raspberry and plum. It is a dry wine with good acidity and a refreshing strawberry palate.
Silterra Pinot Grigio
Italy- Generous bouquet with delicate notes of pear. Dry, full-bodied and well-balanced on the palate..
Sand Point Chardonnay
Lodi, CA– A Chardonnay blend made of two 100% Chardonnay styles. The first, 100% stainless steel aged to highlight the bright, crisp apple notes. The second, Chardonnay with ten months of French and American oak aging. This leads to a balance between the bright tropical fruit aromas and the rich, toasty vanilla oak flavors. Overall, it is a straightforward wine with vibrancy and richness.
Chateau Des Combes
Bordeaux, France- A classic style wine from the Bordeaux region. On the nose it offers a pleasant red fruit with aromas of vanilla and spice. On the mouth it is supple and fruity with soft tannins.
Caricature Red Blend
California- Dense, rich mouthfeel laced with alluring notes of cherry, plum and dark chocolate. Intriguing accents of oak spice, cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg linger on the long finish.
Jam Cabernet Sauvignon
Napa, CA- Blackberries, black plums, black currant, cassis and more—this easy-to-love Cabernet is all about the fruit. Harvested at perfect ripeness and made in the tradition of great Californian winemaking, JaM Cab bursts with lush berries on the nose and palate. Aging in our unique blend of new oak smoothes the wine and adds a lingering touch of vanilla to the finish.
Peachy Canyon Zinfandel
Paso Robles, Cal- Deep aromas of black currant and kirsch bolstered by soft cola, clove and sassafras notes. The palate is framed by a rocky, volcanic minerality and seductive structure that unveils vanilla, minty herbs and rich rhubarb.
Sonoma CA- Aromas are enticing with hints of strawberry and baking spices. Flavors of black cherry, plum, and black pepper are showcased along with cinnamon notes and, in the background, a touch of vanilla and toasty oak. Medium bodied with round tannins follow through to a velvety finish.

Hilary Goldschmidt Cabernet Sauvignon
Sonoma, Cal.- Violet-black; rich and intense with black currant, raspberry, and blueberry aromas. Shows blackberry, boysenberry, and red raspberry flavors. Full-bodied and smooth mid-palate with baking spices in the finish.
Heritage Browne Cabernet Sauvignon
Columbia Valley, Wa– Inky red, almost black in color, this classic Cabernet Sauvignon is heavily concentrated with ripe cherry aromas and dark fruit flavors, backed by vanilla oak notes.
